The burger, which comes with cooked patty and mixed with vegetables and sauce, is one of the most beloved foods in the world. Not only is it fast-served and convenient, it's also made with assorted sauces and patties, so it never gets boring. In Korea, such burgers have been transformed and revamped to ‘Bob Burger’ placing itself as a healthy fast food. Bob Burger uses compressed rice buns substituted for the bread and has combined Korean food, which is affordable and popular among office workers and students who don’t have enough time to have proper meals. Recently, a famous Korean YouTuber ‘Deeva Jenny’ presented a Bob Burger mukbang, where the viewers were totally absorbed with the show that they had to order the Bob Burger while watching.

#Rice-holic Koreans

The Koreans have exceptional love for rice. Their attachment to rice is so big that there is even a saying that "Koreans hang in there with rice." Even when you ask each other's regards, or when you make an appointment with a person you want to be friend with, rice is always present in the sentence. For this reason, Koreans don't miss rice out on meals. For example, ‘kimbap’ where the rice is rolled in, ‘juk’ cooked by stirring rice in soup left after eating hot pot dishes, and ‘fried rice’ mixing in the rice in the remaining sauce.

Every now and then rice is also eaten with something which seems very unlikely such as ‘Chibap’ is the case. It is typically eaten together with fried chicken, or mixed with chicken sauce after munching the chicken. As more people enjoy eating Chibap lately, it is becoming popular enough to be launched as a menu itself in the famous chicken franchise.

#Bob Burger with diverse patties

The origin of Bob Burger is Noryangjin and Sillim-dong. Both are home to many Korean test takers, and it is said to have been developed by street vendors for those who are unable to take a meal properly. Although it is low priced and prepared quickly, there are a wide range of Bob Burgers which combines the Korean style of cooking and rice.

A rice bun mixed with seaweed powder, ham, fried egg, kimchi, and cheese is the basic Bob Burger. There are also ‘Spicy Mayo Beef Bulgogi’ with spicy beef bulgogi sprinkled with mayonnaise sauce and ‘Eganjang Cheese Tteokgalbi’ with scrambled eggs on tteokgalbi topped off with cheese and soy sauce are the most typical menu. For just 4,000 won, try Bob Burger to fill up your stomach with delicious Korean meal.

Tip. Never store them in the refrigerator to keep it longer. As the moisture is drained out, the rice will immediately fall apart causing the ingredients to flow down, and it becomes tasteless. When Bob Burger buns are less sticky, use tuna or spam can to press it down again.

#Bob Burger can be enjoyed abroad

While the Korean food is specifically regarded as well-being diet in the recent days, Bob Burger, a healthy fast food made with rice instead of burger buns, can now be found in the overseas as well. Korea's Bobleeburger is attracting much interest as Korea's first Bob Burger exporter which developed a menu to satisfy the taste for foreigners as well as Koreans. The company also develops and uses a molding machine to make rice bun, and their burgers can be eaten with one hand.

Above all, the Korean Wave has attracted unexpected attention in China that recently there was a project to provide Bob Burgers to local passengers on train, and an event was held to introduce frozen Bob Burgers at a hotel in Heilongjiang.
