DAECHANG FOOD CO., LTD. is a seaweed expert who has been with seaweed for over 40 years since 1979. Every year during the harvest season of seaweed, we collect and analyze data on the current situation of seaweed from all over the country and from major seaweed producing countries in the world. The president personally visits the seaweed production area every day and thoroughly inspects the products to secure the raw laver of the necessary quality for the whole year. Through our love for seaweed and our long experience, we have come to believe that only “supplying selected good seaweed to consumers” is the best way of serving consumers. While striving for customer satisfaction, in 1991 we registered the trademark for stone laver for the first time in the industry, promoting the excellence of stone laver produced in the sea off the coast of Shinan-gun which had only been used in the region until then. Since 2007 export demand for seaweed has soared and accordingly overseas sales are increasing independently of the domestic market. In line with this, we have been concentrating on promoting the excellence of Korean seaweed throughout the world with only one single item, seaweed laver. As we believe that export is the only way to contribute to our country and society, we always research to understand the tastes and patterns of consumers and make every effort to make the best products that meet the taste of the people. As a company specializing in seaweed, we have quality and price competitiveness because we produce one-stop from primary processing of seaweed to finished products. Currently, we operate 20 dried seaweed processing lines, 25 roasted and seasoned seaweed processing lines, 11 cold storage warehouses, and 6 room temperature warehouses in Mokpo Jeollanam-do South Korea.
