In Korea, Bibimbap is the “go to” menu when one has no appetite. This is because you can have a square meal by simply mixing the rice with side dishes and Gochujang (Hot Pepper Paste). There are various types of Korean Bibimbap, but the one with the simplest recipe is made with Musaengchae, julienne Korean radish Salad ingredients. Both the recipe and the ingredient are simple. You only need to prepare radish, chili powder, sugar, vinegar and garlic. We introduce you the recipe to make Musaengchae Bibimbap that even a beginner in Korean food can master with 20 minutes of time. 

 

#4 servings, cooking time: 20 minutes 
Main Ingredient (4 servings): 400 g of radish, 1/2 green onion, 4 eggs 
Sub Ingredients (seasoning sauces): 2.5 T of chili powder, 1T of salt, 1T of sugar, 0.5T of Vinegar, 1T of chopped garlic and 1T of fish sauce

 

#The Recipe 

 

1. Wash the radish then cut it in big pieces
2. Slice the cut radish into thin stripes 
3. Place the radish stripes in bowls and sprinkle with salt & sugar and leave it for 10 minutes to marinate the radish in salt & sugar.
4. Throw away the salted and sugary water and season the marinated radish with chili powder.
5. Put the green onion, chopped garlic, vinegar and fish sauce together in one bowl and mix them well. 
6. Cook 4 fried eggs over low heat. 
7. Garnish the dish with fried eggs on top of rice and sliced radish and the dish is complete.
